Quarto. [8], 121, [1]pp. Contemporary gilt-stamped full morocco, with gold lettering and tooling to spine, and gilt-stamped King's College armorial to front cover. All edges gilt. Dentelles. Tissue-guarded frontispiece. Title page in red and black lettering. Illustrated with 24 pasted Woodbury reproductions after famous paintings by Halliday, Mulready, Reynolds, Landseer, Maclise and others, this work is a remarkable study of art depicting 19th-century domestic life. Includes the author's practical preface on the Woodbury Process. Binding rubbed along edges. Pasted on inside of front cover is a King's College award note bearing the name of the award recipient (James Joseph Holdsworth), the year of graduation (1882-1883), and the subject of the award (Commerce & Commercial Law). Previous owner's small stamp on inside of front board (Bertrand Smith, Acres of Books). Minor and sporadic foxing throughout. Binding in overall good- to good, interior in very good condition.
