Octavo, reddish-orange cloth lettered in white and black with ornate cover and spine; slightly soiled, re-inserted endpaper. First edition, first printing, profusely illustrated, with 8 maps and diagrams. From the library of Henry Wynans Jessup, with his ownership signature on the front endpaper. A professor at New York University, Jessup published numerous treatises on the law. His son, Philip C. Jessup, who served as a judge on the International Court of Justice at The Hague, was credited with playing a major role in ending the Soviet blockade of West Berlin.
