Size 8 x 10 inches. Original Engraving, lightly coloured. Unframed In good condition. Some light foxing on edges with a few minor marks,left hand lower edge has small closed tear & small margin repair. The Society for the Diffusion of Useful Knowledge was founded in London in 1826, mainly at the instigation of Whig MP Henry Brougham, with the object of publishing information to people who were unable to obtain formal teaching or who preferred self-education.
