Bound in full brown leather, single red leather spine label lettered in gilt, 6 compartments with [Vol] "34" and "1792" lettered in gilt below the spine label; paginated xvi, History of Europe 1-226, errata; Chronicle, State Papers, Characters, Natural History, Useful Projects, Antiquities, Miscellaneous Essays, Poetry, and Account of Books 1-496; Contents [1-12]. This volume is notable for early English perspectives on the French Revolution, particularly its causes relative to the behavior of the French monarchy; progress of the Haitian Revolution begun in 1791 and lead by Toussaint Louverture, and subsequent discussions about the morality of slavery and British participation in the slave trade; continued progress of British ascendancy in India, and accounts of local resistance; State Papers section contains possibly unique copies of letters, decrees and other documents relative to these subjects, as well as early English publication of many French Revolution documents and decrees.
