Provenance: Georgius Huxley, Lincoln's Inn, 1672, inscription on front free endpaper; purchased from Kelly Law Books, 10 October 1944, pencil note. SECOND EDITION, first printed by Richard Tottel in 1579, an alphabetic dictionary of the precedents of those reigns listed under subject, one of the earliest examples of Common Law index in England. William Fleetwood was both lawyer and politician favored by Burghley, in his later years before his death in 1594 a London MP, also holding legal offices, including Queen's Sergeant in 1592. 1 volume. Bound in contemporary calf, neatly rebacked with red label, a little worn to upper corners, lower corners restored, bookplate of LA Law Library [purchased in 1944], text unstamped, a very good sound copy.
