First Edition of this unique, quite scarce edition of Lewis Carroll's class tale, illustrated & animated--with 4 pop-ups-- by Julian Wehr. Book is a colorful, oblong, spiral bound, hardcover. Text has been abridged & modified for this edition. Unpaginated, but there are 24 total pages. Completely readable & illustrations are wonderful (though the Red Queen has been rendered as an angry Negress, consistent with racist representations of the time). Condition downgraded to only Fair due to these flaws: significant rubbing to extremities, old price in crayon semi-erased on front cover. The pages are all intact, but some are tearing away from the red plastic spiral binding (which is in fine shape itself). One pop-up is completely nonfunctional (but all pieces are still there in between pages), while another only semi functions; other 2 work fine. On the good side, there is NO writing or underlining or highlighting; not ugly ex-lib. Nicely protected in new mylar collector bag FREE!
