A jigsaw puzzle held in a tin can made by American conceptual artist W. Anastasi for the MoMa gift shop in 1975. An almost impossible jigsaw puzzle, the actual picture is of a light gray jigsaw puzzle; the jigsaw pieces do not match up with the underlying image of the puzzle. And, there is no picture to help guide you, like most puzzles do. This of course makes it exceptionally difficult to connect the shapes. The puzzle first appeared in 1975, when the Museum of Modern Art commissioned Anastasi to design a jigsaw puzzle for their store. The result was iconic, as his design was to create a puzzle-themed puzzle, similar in concept to his wall-on-a-wall works. It was popular enough to re-issue in a second color version. This is a fabulous piece of art from an intriguing figure, who dies in November 2023 at the age of 90. The set is complete, and in excellent condition. Seller Inventory # 1975
