Printed in New York City by Dodd, Mead and Company. 1924, 2 volumes, 227 and 265 pp, 8.75 x 6 , hardcover cloth binding. In good condition, with minor rubbing and wear to boards. Hinges remain in good condition, with minor wear towards the start of Volume II. Minimal marginalia and markings. General age-related toning to pages, along with periodic foxing and wear. A scarce collection of American accounts by American-Japanese writer and historian Lafcadio Hearn (1850-1904), including multiple pieces of African American life around the turn of the 20th Century.
