This 8.5 x 11.125 inch, 400 page hardcover book with dust wrapper is the 1973 first edition of this title with that date on the title page and - First Edition - stated on the copyright page. This copy is in fine condition with only a touch of browning showing to the spine crown and foot of the white spine cloth strip over maroon cloth boards. The corners are sharp and as new - the interior text shows a previous owner?s bookplate on the ffep - but beyond that - the interior text pages are as new - with no markings or time-wear to be seen. Alistair Cooke?s television series America was enormously popular in the 1970?s as he offered an Englishman?s view of the American story illustrating his television presentations with photos and art illustrations to emphasize his perspective of the American story. 400 pages.
