About the Author:

Homero, seg�n la tradici�n cl�sica, fue un poeta de la antigua Grecia, autor de los poemas �picos La Il�ada y la Odisea, entre otros trabajos. Su influencia ha marcado la historia de la literatura universal y es especial la de Occidente. Seg�n el historiador antiguo Her�doto, Homero vivi� alrededor de los a�os 850 antes de Cristo, aunque otras fuentes sit�an su existencia mucho m�s cerca de los tiempos de la guerra contra Troya, entre los a�os 1194 y 1184 antes de Cristo. Seg�n la tradici�n, Homero era ciego y cantaba sus obras de memoria. Algunos historiadores concluyen que los conocidos hoy como obras de Homero, no son m�s que poemas desarrollados gradualmente a trav�s de largos per�odos de tiempo de literatura oral.
