Psychodiagnostics is an important part of the work of psychologists and educationalists: The clinical or health care psychologist attempts to discover what the patient or client is suffering from, and the developmental psychologist and educationalist investigate how the problems of a child or adolescent have developed. It is not so easy to arrive at a clear diagnosis because multiple factors often play a role. For well founded diagnostics, psychologists and educationalists can use interviews and psychological tests. Ultimately the information collected through these interviews and tests are collated in order to reach a final decision. The goal hereof is to create a starting point for counselling and treatment. The students will receive most of the training in diagnostic skills by working through the Diskits independently and then by applying them in practicals, during which, for example, the method of role-playing can be used. A Diskit is an interactive computer program that exists of a large number of short video clips or texts to which students should respond.

From the Back Cover:
This book describes the outcomes of the project Skills in Psychodiagnostics. These outcomes consist of seven digital modules that can be used by students in psychology and pedagogy to acquire the professional skills for adequate psychodiagnostics.

With this book you hold the key to enter the interactive programme on www.diskitpsy.com. In this programme students have to do exercises with increasing complexity, often after the observation of videotaped interactions between a helper and a client. After finishing the exercise, they receive feedback by comparing their solutions with an expert solution. The professional skills under attention are: general skills such as observation and professional ethics, clinical psychodiagnostics for adults, and developmental psychodiagnostics for children and adolescents.

Students can independently develop a lot of experience with the complex practice of psychodiagnostics and assessment. Using a separate code, teachers are able to follow the students' progress. In this book you will find the backgrounds and clarifications of the seven digital modules.
