Fiona Mozley (1988) werd geboren in York en studeerde in Cambridge. Momenteel werkt ze aan haar doctoraalscriptie in Middeleeuwse geschiedenis en in het weekend werkt ze bij een boekhandel in York. Elmet is haar debuutroman en werd geshortlist voor The Man Booker Prize 2017.
