Green cloth boards with - to front panel- b/w reproduction of photographic postcard showing Hitchin High Street from pre-WW1 period. Boards a little scuffed and age-darkened. 80pp, of which 76 have b/w photographic postcard reproductions with accompanying details below. (please see images). One of the most interesting features of this collection is the inclusion, towards the end of the book, of postcard images of Letchworth Garden City (later to have a title of its own in this series) from the very early days of its creation, and also a beautiful image of a steam train standing at Letchworth Railway Station, which opened in 1905. The book has clearly been handled and read, with some minimal waviness to leading bottom edges of pages, but contents are tight and clean, with no additional marks or inscriptions.
