"Il Giornalino di Gian Burrasca" è il romanzo per ragazzi più divertente e più avvincente di tutta la letteratura italiana. Come nel "Pinocchio", il protagonista, Giannino Stoppani, rappresenta l'indipendenza e l'originalità di giudizio e di pensiero, ma in un modo più radicale ed originale. Gian Burrasca interpreta ed affronta il mondo a suo modo, evitando costantemente di seguire le indicazioni, sia morali che pratiche, che gli somministrano gli adulti. Stravolge costantemente sia la visione dei fatti che accadono, sia le aspettative degli adulti, dandoci una visione originale del mondo visto da un ragazzino di 9 anni che diventa presto il sinonimo del ragazzo indisciplinato e che combina scherzi e guai inimmaginabili. Sicuramente nel "Il Giornalino di Gian Burrasca" non vi sono morali ottimistiche o implicazioni etiche sulla convenienza di essere buoni e comportarsi bene, come nel "Pinocchio" od ancora di più in "Cuore". Giannino Stoppani è completamente a suo agio, anzi felice, ad essere cattivo, anzi perfido, salvo il fatto che il lettore si ritrova a parteggiare per lui e non per le disgraziate vittime dei suoi scherzi. Il libro è illustrato con i disegni dalla prima edizione originale. As in "Pinocchio", the protagonist, Giannino Stoppani, represents the independence and originality of thought and opinion, but more radical and original. Gian Burrasca plays and faces the world in its own way, constantly without follow both moral and practical advises that adults administer to him. He distorts the vision of the occurring facts and the expectations of adults, giving us an original vision of the world seen by a nine year boy that soon became the synonymous of any unruly boy, combining jokes and unimaginable troubles. In "Il Giornalino di Gian Burrasca" there are no optimistic moral or ethical meanings on the convenience to be good and behave well, as in "Pinocchio" or even more in the "Cuore". Giannino Stoppani is completely at ease, even happy, to be bad, even evil, and soon the reader finds himself siding with him and not for the unfortunate victims of his jokes. The book is illustrated with original drawings from the first edition.
