A young officer brings a confidential message to Spanish president Sagasta, but he is intercepted and killed. Simultaneously the Maine battleship is destroyed (Feb. 15, 1898) in Havana harbour by an explosion that killed 260 men, one day ahead of its return after finishing his peacemaking mission. Ex-agent Hércules Guzmán Fox and S.S.P. agent George Lincoln initiate an against the clock race to discover the truth. They will have to decipher secret codes and escape through numerous tribulations to save their lives. A puzzle they will have to unveil before the USA - Spain war explodes. But they are not alone. A secret society wants the truth stay concealed, to find out and recapture a hidden treasure, also sought after by Columbus, hidden in Havana for centuries.
