Many regions and cities around the world have costumes used in their celebrations . They come from another ancient costume worn in these localities , for different reasons. Goyesco Suit, is the costume worn in Madrid since the late eighteenth century to the mid-nineteenth century and was adopted by the upper classes copying folk costumes , as a result of the need to appear sober and populism after the French Revolution . In the case of women, Goya costume consists of a fitted bodice in rich fabrics (usually velvets ) low-cut and plugging handkerchief with lantern sleeves shoulder and then adjusted , net to the head, also full skirt from the waist apron. The costume is usually embroidered both skirt and bodice . In the case of man costume Goya forms of white shirt with a sash , jacket ( in rich fabrics ) short buttoned and adorned with embroidery and neckerchief matching the sash.
