This book, containing altogether two volumes, records the all the earthquakes that have taken place in Sichuan from 26 BC to 2008. The first volume records all the information about the earthquakes from 26 BC to 1949 that can be found in the official historical recordings, local chronicles, documental files and hearstone. The second volume registers all the earthquakes since the liberation, including 512 earthquakes and 36 tremors of magnitude higher than 5. The recording attach more importance to the scientific and technological aspect, writing down the time, the location, the epicenter, the impact scope, the measure of magnitude and intensity, the macroscopic reaction, the microscopic features, animals reaction before the earthquake, the damage and secondary disaster caused by the earthquake, etc. Most importantly, the book also introduces different kinds of emergency measures to be undertaken after the catastrophe and lessons to be learned.
