Esta es una novela de iniciación. Es la invitación a una fiesta sin sosiego, donde su protagonista dejará que el mundo baje hasta el pozo sin fondo de sus propios excesos. Pero con felicidad. La obra de Caicedo está considerada una de las más originales de la literatura colombina. Se suicidó el 4 de marzo de 1977, cuando tenía veinticinco años, el mismo día que recibió la primera copia impresa de ¡Que viva la música!, la obra por la que es recordado hasta hoy.

This is a novel of initiation. An invitation to a never-ending party where the host invites the world to go down the black
hole of their chosen excess—in happiness. Caicedo’s oeuvre is considered among the most original works in Colombian literature. He was 25 when he committed suicide, the same day he received the first printed copy of ¡Que viva la música!, for which he is remembered to this day.
