Martha Coopers willingness to travel with cameras in risky areas placed her in the center of the Hip Hop movement. Her dramatic photos are a testament to her courage to carry her cameras into dangerous areas in order to get the shot. Cooper photographed kids in their own world: playing, exploring, being creative.
