Over a period of many years, Claudio Alessandri photographed women from his circle of acquaintances who had never posed nude before. The resulting series of 120 nudes is a study in female diversity, and an intense document of the women's self-image and charisma. Sturdy and delicate bodies, with young skin and wrinkled skin, are presented to the camera with pride and with relicence. We not only gain the impression that the women are showing themselves as they like to see themselves, but can well imagine that some of them may have discovered a new aspect of their own beauty in the resulting nude photographs. Alessandri started as an assistant to a number of famous Condc Nast photographers, among them Barry Lategan and Oliviero Toscani, and has since photographed for Vogue Italia, Uomo Vogue and Ilarper's Bazaar Italia.
