The study sets out to answer the question, “How and to what extent has the Whole School Improvement Programme (WSIP) influenced the quality of teaching and learning processes of teachers in project schools in Gilgit,Pakistan?” The study was conducted in two WSIP project schools in district Gilgit from government and private school. case study approach was used in Qualitaive paradigm and Context, Input, Process and Product model was used in data collection and during analysis to evaluate the input given by professional development of teachers and outcomes of the program. Two head teachers, ten teachers, twelve students and six parents participated from both sample schools in the study. The focus was on one of the areas from the WSIP model: “quality of teaching and learning”. The study revealed that many positive changes have occurred in the domain of teaching/learning as a result of WSIP. As a result of these practices teachers and students changed their behaviour, as they were helping and supporting each other to enhance quality of teaching and learning. The study also revealed that there were factors which supported or hindered the impact of WSIP in teaching and learning.

She obtained MA Education and Intervatinal Development from Institute of Education,UK and M.Ed. From Aga Khan University, Pakistan and MA IR from Karachi University, Pakistan.
