The first chapter on anatomy begins at the skull base, and follows the internal carotid artery to its bifurcation. The anterior artery, middle-cerebral artery and circle of Willis are explored before moving down the basilar artery to the vertebral arteries. The second chapter covers surgical approaches: for the anterior fossa; middle cranial fossa and combined middle- and posterior-cranial fossa; the posterior fossa and craniocervical junction; and the vein of Galen and pineal region. The last four chapters are devoted to types of pathology as demonstrated by the clinical material.
