About the Author:
Thomas Bein (Jg. 1957) studierte Germanistik, Romanistik und Philosophie an der Universitat Bonn. Nach Promotion und Habilitation ist er seit 1999 Universitatsprofessor an der RWTH Aachen. Schwerpunkte in Forschung und Lehre: Lyrik des Hochmittelalters (besonders Walther von der Vogelweide), Editionstheorie und -praxis, Fachliteratur, Propadeutik, Mediavistik und Neue Medien. Neben den 'Walther-Studien' gibt er auch die Monographienreihe 'Kultur -Wissenschaft - Literatur. Beitrage zur Mittelalterforschung' im Verlag Peter Lang heraus.
