Depuis 1972 il vit en Grande Bretagne. Il a fait ses études d'abord au Hornsey College of Art, puis à la Chelsea School of Art Design. Actuellement il travaille à Londres, bien qu'il retourne fréquemment en Inde. Il est reconnu pour ses créations inspirées à la fois de la culture occidentale et de ses origines orientales. Parmi ses influences diverses, on peut citer : Mantegna, Joseph Beuys, Barnett Newman et Yves Klein.
