Review:
"Without pathos or self-indulgence, Regis Jauffret has written his most accomplished novel, of a devastated and devastating beauty, which is an ode to a vanished lover. Each sentence lashes the page like a whiplash." Le Magazine Litteraire. "Deeply tragic and caustic." Telerama. "Lacrimosa works like a literary boxing match, virtuoso and deeply moving, where the emotion is never far from the absurd." L'Express. "A fierce epistolary dialogue for a great novel." Le Nouvel Observateur. "A story without mercy where sincerity explodes from every page, sometimes to the point of provocation." --Le Figaro
'Lacrimosa is marked by Jauffret's own direct involvement in both the real-life events and the narrative, an internal exploration deepened by his own experience.' --Russell Williams, TLS
