Paperback. Condition: NEUF. Brassaï est arrivé à Paris en 1924 pour devenir peintre. Mais ce sont ses errances nocturnes avec ses amis artistes qui l'ont métamorphosé en photographe, aidé par les conseils de son compatriote André Kertész, le premier à prendre des photos de nuit. En 1932, il publie l'album Paris de nuit qui lui apporte aussitôt la célébrité, il collabore à la revue surréaliste Le Minotaure et rencontre Picasso dont il photographie les sculptures au château de Boisgeloup.Roger Grenier a vécu sa jeunesse à Pau, où il a rencontré Gilberte, future épouse de Brassaï. Journaliste à Paris depuis la Libération, il lui trouve un travail grâce auquel elle rencontre le photographe en 1945. Les deux hommes deviennent très liés et leur amitié durera jusqu'à la mort de Brassaï.Comme l'écrit Roger Grenier dans son texte qui évoque leurs trente-trois ans d'amitié : "Venant de Brasso, en Transylvanie, il trouva avec nous une nouvelle famille.
