J.P. (Jana) Haynes is a Mississippi native born in the small town of Amory, MS. Jana attend Northeast Mississippi Community College, Mississippi University for Women, and her final stop, Mississippi College: the nucleus of her studies being Communications and Mass Media. From writing music , playing the piano and even a two year stint competing in the Miss Mississippi Pageant, Jana's college days were eclectic and each year, a polar opposite of the previous one. After college, Jana considered varied career destinations, including bar tending and account management at a large marketing firm. Her first love, nevertheless was invariably and still remains, writing. Throughout the years Jana wrote in an array of capacities, including Spoken Word and keynote addresses, and most recently a stage play. Jana is the co-founder of MAC Entertainment in partnership with her brother and she is most recently the CEO and founder of Infecting Change Productions, LLC. Jana's most contemporary undertakings are comprised of The Closet Chronicles, a fiction novel debuting with Sapphire Publishing in 2017 and Lives Matter, a stage play written by Jana and produced by Infecting Change Productions, also slated for 2017. Jana and her family were featured cast members in 2014 the award winning documentary L Word Mississippi on Showtime. Jana and her partner of four years, Dannika, reside in Hattiesburg, MS raising their son, Kasen (6). Jana's many endeavors don't detour from the hustle and bustle of football, homework, soccer practice and family dinners, and by her account, family trumps it all. "I'm a Christian, but I'm also a human. I believe God gifted me with writing to use it for altruism. For me, Christianity doesn't equate to bible beater, but a champion of love, of hope and of change." Jana's goal is to leave the world a little better than she found it, and we do that she says, by "changing one perspective at a time, and I do that by writing."
