About the Author:

Dr. Barbara majored in philosophy and psychology at New York University, completed her Masters in Religion at Columbia, and holds a Ph.D. in theology and counseling from The Claremont School of Theology. A licensed individual, marriage, and family therapist, her training included pastoral counseling with ministers cross-training in psychotherapy and marriage counseling. She chose this counselor’s license because it represents a respect for the value of relationships in mental health and creating good relationships. For 32 years, Dr. Barbara has maintained a busy private practice. Dr. Michael, a board-certified physician and a fellow of the American Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine, has practiced since 1978 in nutritional and preventive medicine. He has treated thousands of patients with a holistic approach and incorporated the latest technological advances into his practice of medicine including laser skin rejuvenation, nonsurgical face lifts, and specializes in anti-aging and regenerative medicine to help people reverse the effects of aging for their emotional and physical well-being. Dr. Michael began using stem cell investigational protocols for a wide variety of degenerative diseases as well as treating male and female sexual dysfunction. Dr. Michael is a graduate of New York University School of Medicine and was an Assistant Clinical Professor at the University of California Irvine School of Medicine from 2001 to 2008, training students and residents in natural approaches. Dr. Michael is also an active member of the fellowship in Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine and author of the books The Vitality Connection and The Magic of Stem Cells. The doctors facilitated weekly attitudinal healing classes from 1985 to 1997, teaching classes to use spiritual principles and beliefs that promote wellness through forgiveness. For more than 30 years, Dr. Michael has taught thousands of people meditation in weekly classes. Since 1990, the doctors have been teaching a course called Falling in Love Forever, relationship classes teaching practical skills to allow couples to experience a profound deepening of love. A student of Kabbalah, Dr. Michael has taught bi-weekly classes in Kabbalah and meditation since 1986. Amateur competitive ballroom dancers, they have two married daughters and seven grandchildren.
