About the Author:

Sean McLaughlin was born in Cleveland, Ohio, the bicentennial year. He earned his B.A. in English, consecutive honorable mention awards for the university’s Fall Creative Writing Contest, and his initial teaching licensure from Cleveland State University. He began his career as an educator working with underprivileged middle school students in the city of Cleveland. In 2005, Sean enlisted in the Navy, graduated boot-camp the 4th of July weekend, and set out to sea on board the Theodore Roosevelt air-craft carrier his first official day on active duty serving as a Yeoman for Fighter Squadron 213, the Fighting Blacklions, on the Final Tomcat Cruise. Sean’s second novel, Tradewinds, a confessional, comic romance centered around a dysfunctional love triangle, is to be broadly based on his travels and experiences in the Navy during war time. Sean currently resides in a suburb outside of D.C., where he works as a technical writer contracting with the Department of Homeland Security.
