About the Author:
Tammy Mentzer Brown was born in Iowa, grew up in Alabama and currently resides in Tennessee. A fifteen year old runaway, she would find grace, mercy and strength in the people whose paths would cross her way to begin a new life, always acknowledging a mighty and powerful God at work in her life, celebrating the good with the bad. She moved to the Presbyterian Home for Children in Talladega, Alabama where she graduated from Talladega High School and would go on to complete a Bachelor’s of Business Administration from the University of North Alabama with a concentration in Human Resources Management and Organizational Behavior in 1999. She earned the Marketing and Management award from UNA and has worked in various jobs, including the Human Resources field in manufacturing and software developments since. Outside work Tammy has spent years volunteering in her community as a Girl Scout Leader, volunteer at a Science Center, and local schools; as well as a youth leader in the United Methodist Church with her husband for the last twenty years. She has served as Social Action Chair in the Florence District of UMW and was also a Director of Puppet Ministries for almost ten years, leading youth into service within nursing homes, preschools and visits to shut-ins. Her endeavors and passion to share Christ have led to participation in summer mission trips and leading women’s Bible studies in a nondenominational setting. She is the loving wife of Patrick Brown and proud mother of two children, Anthony and Lauren. Tammy’s hobbies include hiking, biking, caving, and writing.
