Eight childhood friends, now in their fifties, have gathered for a weekend to reminisce about their early years in a closed an intimidated group of young men and women who grew up together outside Montreal in the 1950s. Surprisingly, they all accepted eagerly, although their gathering revives a long-repressed anciety about the enigmatic death of Gabrielle, an otherworldly member of their group. They still carry within themselves the same ruinous desires, taboos and dislikes that had woven them tightly together.
