About the Author:

STEVE BAUER is a retired Army Colonel. During his twenty-eight years of service he was an Infantry Officer in Vietnam and on the DMZ in Korea before being selected to serve as a military aide to five presidents. Based on his military career, Steve wrote the books, At Ease in the White House and How to do Business with the Federal Government. Together Linda and Steve wrote Recipes from Historic Louisiana. They currently live in Houston and have two grown sons who provide the photography for their travel columns. LINDA BAUER is a self-syndicated food and travel columnist for a variety of newspapers and has written columns for the past twenty years. She is the author of The American Sampler Cookbook, The New American Sampler Cookbook, and The Great American Sampler Cookbook. Linda is a member of International Association of Cooking Professionals, International Food, Wine and Travel Writers Association, American Pen Women, North American Travel Journalists Association and FIJET.
