She was also a respected microbiologist who did ground-breaking research at Yale. Polly Bunting died in 1998. but during the last years of her life she gave support to the author, who conducted extensive interviews, and was entrusted with Bunting's letters, diaries and papers. This is the first biography to be written about this influential woman.
