Before he became Peter Pan, before his arrival to Neverland, he was a boy fighting for survival. Born into the harsh Dickensian London suburbs, an alcoholic mother leaving him in an almost-orphan state, Peter's only retreat from reality was the fantastical stories given to him by a friendly neighbour - allowing him to temporarily escape the darkness of the adult world. For the first time this six-volume series will be translated into English and collected in one omnibus edition. Loisel offers a unique take on a well-known tale that goes into a grim and dark world.

Review:
'This Peter Pan is an exuberant, imaginative and often mean spirited narrative that scrutinizes humanity and finds it lacking... Loisel expertly drives the pace of the story so that his Peter Pan is never less than compelling.' - Times Literary Supplement

'Don't even think about skipping this one... This is a labour of love that truly deserves your attention.... Soaring Penguin have done a truly spectacular job collecting together and translating the full run of this Peter Pan prequel and it needs to go on your wishlist now....this is one of those rare books that gives you more and more each time you read it.' - Geek Syndicate

'The exuberant artwork is great fun, with neat shifts in tone between the shimmering beaches of the island and the gloom of London's alleyways... a rich and fantastical tale...' - The Guardian

'The exquisite repackaging of this extraordinary reinterpretation of the timeless childrens favourite is undoubtedly one of the most essential graphic novel collections of the year.' - Broken Frontier

'Loisel's Peter Pan knows exactly which questions need answering and squarely delivers.' - SciFi Now (August)

"Dark, discomforting and delightful... By taking the subtext out of the shadows and into the spotlight, Loisel's Peter Pan is infinitely more enjoyable." - Comics Beat

'Loisel s masterly Peter Pan (Soaring Penguin, £29.99) does for J.M. Barrie's fantasy what Wicked did for The Wizard of Oz by making us re-think the original and expanding what drives one Victorian urchin to make a wish for eternal youth and sanctuary his reality.' --Book of the Year for Paul Gravett

"Dark, discomforting and delightful... By taking the subtext out of the shadows and into the spotlight, Loisel's Peter Pan is infinitely more enjoyable." --Comics Beat
