I found this book a wonderful combination of good practical ways of engaging children in storytelling with thorough knowledge of how to develop these vital skills in early years. This book is full of good practice and immediate ways of putting into action storytelling and storymaking. This resource will develop and expand skills in planning for storytelling and storymaking with flexible, effective Early Years practitioners who revel in the process rather than the product of an activity. When I was a nursery teacher I wish this resource had been available! --Anne Pitcher, a professional storyteller on the Scottish Storytelling Centre's Directory
A very insightful book. The students particularly like the 'time for you to think' as this does do as it states. We spent alot of time using reflection & it proved useful --Naomi Whale, Childcare Lecturer, Bath College
This book is fantastic for students who are in placement and need to learn basic skills for story telling . The book provides useful tips and guidance for being a successful story teller within the early years. The book is also supportive towards the communication units on the child care course. I have recommended it to the library and for students to purchase. --Lorna Morgan, Childhood Studies Lecturer, Highlands College, Jersey.
