Review:
It really is the ultimate challenge for clued-up Clarets. Chris and Kevin seem to have an encyclopedic knowledge of Burnley FC and it really shines through in the book. Some of the answers will definitely open the floodgates to memories of some special glory days for fans of all ages. --Jon Livesey, Lancashire Telegraph (Reporter
Congratulations to Chris and Kevin. A tremendous amount of research has gone into the publication. I had to do a bit of research myself for the questions on Page 20! I m not saying if I was 100% correct! But I ve got to own up - it was a little embarrassing! Interesting to see Adam Blacklaw s name on the League goalscorers list. That did stump me! But what could be better for any passionate Clarets fan, returning from victory from far flung places such as Plymouth or Ipswich, than improving their knowledge of their Football Club, the history, the tradition, the players and the managers. Magic! --Martin Dobson, Burnley Football Club (1967-1974 and 1979-1983) - Written the Foreword
The authors aim to entertain and educate in equal measures and along the way they reawaken memories of the people and places that have made up the Clarets' long history. Older fans can have fun matching famous players from years gone by - Jimmy Ross, Peter McKay, Willie Irvine and John Connelly to name just a few - with games in which they scored famous hat-tricks. And how about answering questions on some memorable fixtures featuring the club's highest scoring victories, or recalling the final scores of famous FA Cup fixtures? And watch out for some 'fouls' designed to keep fans young and old on their toes! This tribute to one of Lancashire's most famous football clubs is sure to be a hit with the team's supporters and anyone who has a keen interest in the beautiful game. --Lancashire Evening Post
