Lucien Jenkins studied for his BA at Cambridge University, and for his MA and PhD at London University. He has taught for Ruskin College, Oxford, the Open University and Bristol Universitys lifelong learning department. He is a former member of the board of the Poetry Society, and has worked as a reviewer, critic and journalist for history, literature, dance, music and the visual arts. He was a member of the Qualifications and Curriculum Authoritys Music Development Group (helping rewrite the music content of the National Curriculum), and has been a judge in the Classic FM Music Teacher of the Year since its inception. He is the former editor of Music Teacher, and the founder of Early Music Today, Classroom Music and Teaching Drama.
