Review:
This is a brave and compelling book. It's also a probably much needed 'how to'and 'why to' step-by-step guide through the awful emotional turbulence of adoption. Zara was always talented and driven. Now I know why. --Bob Geldof - Singer, Songwriter and activist

Zara has presented information never before discussed, information which is important to all adoptees and their children. Having experienced separation trauma while an infant affects the way a woman will mother her own children. Will they be able to bond with their baby: will they be over protective.....always fearing someone will take him away? Zara has incorporated experiences from various adoptees into her text which give examples of how much motherhood has affected them and how it has affected their children. This is a much needed look at a subject that has been ignored by most writers. I recommend it to everyone connected with adoption, but especially to female adoptees who are mothers or are contemplating motherhood. --Nancy Verrier - psychotherapist and author of The Primal Wound

As an adoptee and mother of three myself, Zara H Phillips and her book Mother Me has touched parts that no other could even know existed. In this sometimes overwhelmingly open and candid telling of her story, she courageously digs deep, revealing and confessing to the very real and raw emotions experienced by an adoptee on her journey towards her self. Although at times I found it painful to read, this is a powerful, heartfelt account that is ultimately enlightening and uplifting. An essential read for adoptees, regardless of gender, and important too for anyone involved in the adoption circle. --Nimmy March - Actress, Adoptee and Mother
