About the Author

Imam Muhammad Shirazi (1928-2001) was one of the most eminent authorities of Islam in modern times. Few have matched his blend of extensive knowledge and expertise - as evidenced by his monumental works of more than 1100 books and treatises. In his books, he reflects on a variety of social, political and economic issues that plague mankind in general and the Muslim community in particular. He had a lifelong dedication to the cause of freedom, justice and human rights. Over 50 years, he was a vocal opponent of tyranny, and a founding father of a school of grass root renaissance. His works have today been established as an important modern reference for both Muslim and non-Muslim audience alike.
