Sometimes being different can make life a trifle tricky but as instead of hiding away it is often best to go out and face the world where you are likely to discover that being different is not so bad after all.

In Lost: One Dog Greeen this theme is explored through the story of Sarah and her dog James who is extraordinarily green. She is worried that if she lets James out, the other dogs in the neighbourhood will pick on him because he is different but James gets very bored staying indoors all the time and decides to venture out. He is quickly confronted by a gang of dogs, but instead of picking on him they are full of admiration for his wonderful green colouring. This gives James a marvellous idea so he sets to work colouring all the dogs and soon there are pink dogs, orange dogs, blue dogs and even multi-coloured stripey dogs. Sarah is delighted and finally she and James are able to spend their time in the park without fear of being picked on.

This is a hugely entertaining and completely original story that can be enjoyed by old and young alike, and is ideal for bringing up the tricky subjects of differences between people to young children. (Age 3 and over) --Miranda Warren
