Please note that this book is not a reprint of the 1891 volume "Margery of Quether and Other Stories", but, in addition to the title story, is an entirely new selection of S. Baring Gould's weird fiction with three stories and a poem taken from the very rare "Hurst Echoes 1858-1890" and two previously uncollected stories taken from "The Story Teller". The title story includes the eight illustrations by Harry Furniss which were included in the original periodical publication but were omitted in the book. Includes introduction by Richard Dalby. The stories are: Margery of Quether; Master Sacristan Eberhart; The Fireman; The Dead Trumpeter of Hurst Castle; The Devil's Mill; Crowdy Marsh.
