About the Author:

Krassen serves as rabbi of Planetary Judaism, an organization for disseminating progressive mystical Jewish teachings based on the spiritual insights of early Hasidism and Kabbalah. Krassen was awarded Lady Davis Fellowship at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem and has served as Associate Professor of Religion and Director of Jewish Studies at Smith College and at Oberlin, as well as at Naropa University. Krassen s previous publications on Jewish mysticism include: Uniter of Heaven and Earth: Rabbi Meshullam Feibush Heller of Zbarazh and the Rise of Hasidism in Eastern Galicia (State University of New York Press, 1998); The Generations of Adam (Paulist Press, 1996).
