In 1987 Dirk Renartz photographed concentration camps including Dachau, Bergen-Belsen, Ravenbruck and Treblinka. The photographs in this book show similiar structures - train tracks, barbed wire, concrete and blank walls, a sense of depersonalization and an inhuman absense of any detail. A text by political essayist Christian Graff von Krockow sets these images in the context of the historical realities of the Holocaust.
