Jenny Holzer has been at the forefront of American art since her work first came to prominence in the early 1980s. Since winning top honours at the Venice Biennale in 1990 for her installation, which overflowed from the American Pavilion into the streets of the city, she also enjoys international fame. This revised and expanded edition of the book first published by the Guggenheim Museum in 1989 now spans Jenny Holzer's entire career and includes her complete writings. Her multi-faceted installation in the Guggenheim's spiral-shaped rotunda is documented in colour photographs, and a special section is devoted to the Venice installation.
