This book is a combination of reportage, oral history and analysis, looking at aspects of home policy in the period, illustrated by the freshly told experiences of the refugees themselves. The book covers the months of the mass deportations of refugees to Canada and Australia, incuding the sinking by German torpedo of the Arandora Star with the loss of some 500 lives.
