About the Author:

Julian Fane published his first widely acclaimed novel Morning in 1956. Tales of Love and War published by The Book Guild was his twenty-second book. Julian Fane has been a reviewer for the Times Literary Supplement and in 1969 he was a founder member of St Georges Press Ltd. He was elected to the Royal Society of Literature in 1974 and is married and lives in Lewes, East Sussex. This is his fifth book with The Book Guild.
