Review:
In the midst of an economic crisis Father Frans van der Hoff asks us to occupy the market with solidarity and justice and create economies that work for people, not corporations. Creating living economies as part of Earth Democracy is not just possible; it has become necessary for peace justice and sustainability.

Van de Hoff brings to life the story of Fairtrade, a story for the new world. He has demonstrated through word and action that by taking a vision and making it a reality, that a better world is indeed possible. His experience proves this: by plotting the route and leading by example, many more can follow - where people and planet are put first.
- Polly Higgins, Award-winning author of 'Eradicating Ecocide' and advocate for Ecocide law and Earth law
This little book packs a big punch. Father van der Hoff delivers a direct and provocative critique of the exploitation, violence and injustice that characterizes neo-liberal market globalization. He’s equally straightforward in demanding respect and a fair deal for peasants and marginalized people. If you’re not sure there is anything you can or should do to help, read this book. It will erase your doubt and rewrite your shopping list.

Father Frans has reminded me of why I became a Fairtrade activist: for the establishment of the common good and the empowerment of the poor and marginalised. Thank you Father Frans for keeping us focused on the real issues.

Father Frans’ Manifesto is forged in the Deep Mexico of Tehuantepec’s indigenous communities. His trenchant insights on global capitalism and his passionate call for social justice are grounded in the praxis of the original Fairtrade movements.

The New Internationalist has long told the stories of cocoa, banana, tea and coffee farmers. More recently, it has worked with Fairtrade producers and has become directly involved by selling their goods. Frans’ Manifesto is the perfect reminder of why we must continue to practice what we preach. Thank you.
