This is the first collection to be published of the superb fantasy art of Anne Sudworth, well known to gallery connoisseurs but rarely seen in print. In early sections of this book we are introduced to the artist, with discussion of the influences that have affected her work. In addition, there is an extended illustrated treatment of her techniques. The bulk of the book, however, is devoted to a comprehensive gallery of her fantasy work, alongside a selection of studies and roughs, together with an incisive text by John Grant, and extensive and illuminating comments by the artist herself.

About the Author:
Anne Sudworth presented her landmark exhibition 'Visions and Views' in 1993, devoted to her more imaginative and fantastical works. The triumph of this exhibition led her to devote her energies almost exclusively to fantasy and now, while continuing to display her work to great acclaim in orthodox galleries, she shows also with equal success at fantasy and science-fiction conventions. John Grant is the author of Encyclopaedia of Walt Disney's Animated Characters. Technical Editor of the Clute/Nicholls' Encyclopaedia of Science Fiction (for which he shared a rare BSFA Special Award), co-editor with John Clute of The Encyclopaedia of Fantasy and co-author with Ron Tiner of The Encyclopaedia of Fantasy and Science Fiction Art Techniques.
