Synopsis

I was a child of the Sixties, reading Kerouac, Ram Das, Castaneda, listening to Allan Watts on Sunday mornings, studying Zen, visiting India, living with the yogis, talking about land of my own somewhere, believing that a new age was dawning, a kinder world, less grasping. Fifty years have passed since then. I went on to lead a respectable life. I got degrees, wrote books, taught school, joined the Peace Corps, had children, a mortgage, grandchildren, a yard, but there was always a voice telling me not to get lost in things, to remember "thou from whence you came" and this voice is reflected in these poems.

About the Author:

John Mundahl was raised in southern Minnesota along the banks of the Minnesota River. He graduated from St. Olaf College, joined the Peace Corps, received his MA from San Francisco State in TEFL and taught ESL for 32 years. Following retirement, he joined the Peace Corps two more times, was an English Language Fellow to Panama, and traveled extensively. He was a resident at the original Kripalu Yoga Ashram in Sumneytown, Pennsylvania from 1977-1981 during Swami Kripalu's 4-year stay. He is a yoga teacher, Ayurvedic Health Care Educator and the author of 19 books. He maintains a small home in southern Minnesota.
