Review:
The sample pieces I have seen of Eric Wright's devotional book, Down a Country Road, reflect Eric's sound biblical understanding and excellent writing style. My own frustration with the simple devotions published in so many booklets and one-year books has made me wish for something, not only longer but also with more depth. A book like the one Eric has proposed would go a long way in filling that void. --Ray Wiseman, biographer, columnist and speaker

I am always looking for ways to encourage and build up youth and adult volunteers. Devotional books in particular are helpful. This book is written in chapters that give a little more than the traditional one a day devotional page. This makes it meatier and more fulfilling in particular for the Christian who wants to read more than just a paragraph. . . This book ties in beautifully with creation . . . well written, interesting, thought-provoking, beautifully illustrated throughout with personal stories, well worth the read. --Deborah Marling, former Director of Children's Ministries, Cobourg Alliance Church

God speaks to us in the storm, but more often in the ordinary of every day. Thankfully, Eric Wright has been listening. This book is a delightful journey down a road seldom traveled anymore, a road where the simple is profound, where the extraordinary is commonplace, where the most urgent thing we need to do is stop, hear God's voice, and listen. --Phil Callaway, well-known author in Christian circles in North America
About the Author:
Eric E. Wright was born in Montreal and grew up in Toronto. God used a Billy Graham crusade to challenge his agnosticism and redirect his priorities from forestry studies at the University of Toronto to preparation for missionary service at Columbia International University in South Carolina. It was there he met and married Mary Helen. They both served with International Christian Fellowship (SIM) in Pakistan for 18 years where Eric co-founded the Open Theological Seminary and wrote six self-teaching textbooks. Upon return to Canada, Eric served nine years as pastor of Long Branch Baptist Church in Toronto and taught missions at Toronto Baptist Seminary. Since 1991 Eric has served as interim pastor of a number of churches in Ontario and focused on writing. Six of his books, including Church--No Spectator Sport and Revolutionary Forgiveness have been published. He edits the Fellowship Baptist, LINK magazine. Eric's sense of God's creative majesty infuses much of his writing as does a deep desire to inspire Christians to live lives that are both biblically sound and practically godly. Eric and Mary Helen have three married children, all active in their churches, and nine grandchildren. He maintains a web site to describe his writing ministry at www.countrywindow.ca
